External Funding

Many Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences graduate students apply for and receive funding from outside sources including corporations, foundations, and the federal government. The University’s Office of Research subscribes to three comprehensive funding search databases—Community of Science (COS), Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN), and Illinois Research Information Service (IRIS)—that you can use to access information about the most current funding opportunities.

Each database has its own unique searching protocol and all the databases have online help or instructions that can be accessed as needed. Contact Guy Serrapere, funding specialist in the Office of Research, for additional assistance in accessing or searching any of the databases.
