Anti-Racism: Resources and Conversations

June 18, 2020

Dear graduate students:

We hope this finds you safe and healthy.

We’re writing to follow up on our recent communication to share further resources and ways for all to engage.  As we work toward meaningful and sustainable change, we’ve created a page on our website to make visible some key anti-racism resources. Please have a look and share your feedback with us: https://www.asgraduate.pitt.edu/diversity/anti-racism-resources

We want to hear from you and to listen to you.  We’d like to provide safe spaces for you to speak about how you are feeling in the midst of the BLM protests.  And we wish to engage in the difficult conversations we all need to have as a community.  So starting this month, we will be convening meetings via zoom, facilitated by Philippa Carter, Director of Diversity Initiatives and Ombudsperson for Graduate Students, to foster conversations around race and anti-racism and to hear your ideas for possible action steps. We will be in touch soon with further details.

Stay safe, stay connected, and stay engaged!

With best wishes,

Philippa Carter, Director of Diversity Initiatives and Ombudsperson for Graduate Students
