Managing Anxiety: A Dissertation Writing Weekend

September 26, 2020 - 9:00am to September 27, 2020 - 5:00pm

Particularly for academic writers, anxiety can be an obstacle to writing. This weekend is designed as a resource for dissertation writers at any stage who are looking for a shared space, support, and strategies for managing anxiety during the dissertation writing process. We will begin by breaking down the writing process and offering research-based strategies that can help writers move through the writing process. We will also discuss on- and off-campus resources that can keep anxiety down. Most of the time, however, will be devoted to writing. We will be working together on Zoom. The facilitator, Sarah Hakimzadeh, will also be available for daily consultations and one-on-one assistance before, during, and after the group meetings.
