Hi! I’m LJ (they/them/theirs pronouns). I serve as a Graduate Administrator for the English and Theatre Arts Departments. I obtained my BA in History at Pitt and my MA in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a Certificate in Public History concentrating on archival science.
I’ve done many different things over my academic and professional career. I’ve been a medievalist, an urban historian, and an early Americanist. I’ve also worked in libraries and archives, which has given me a deep love for helping people find resources and explore new intellectual paths. I’m passionate about encouraging others to bring their full selves and all their experiences to the academy.
I love talking with people, so please don’t hesitate to reach out, even just to chat! Some of my favorite things are comics (especially Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Batman), 20th-century lesbian pulp fiction, and thrifting.
