Dean Holger Hoock and the Director of Diversity Initiatives in the Graduate Studies Office, Philippa Carter, work with graduate programs to recruit, mentor, retain, and support outstanding graduate students who embody the diversity of our city, region, nation, and global society. We know that diverse groups and organizations are more effective and produce more creative solutions and better decisions. Recruiting the most talented students enhances the educational experience that exposes all students to a variety of perspectives and hence bolster the Dietrich School's educational mission.
We partner with the Arts and Sciences Graduate Student Organization, the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and other units to identify resources, training opportunities, and experiences that advance the diverse excellence and inclusiveness of our graduate community.
